My Design Process
Every garden is different, and every client has their own hopes for their outdoor space. My role is to listen carefully, understand how you want to live in your garden, and create a thoughtful, practical design that suits both your home and your lifestyle.

Most of my work involves complete garden designs for clients who are ready to improve or transform their space. The process below outlines how we typically work together, from our first meeting through to planting and aftercare.
Initial Consultation
This begins with an informal meeting on site, during which we discuss your garden. I listen to what you require from your outside space and give advice and make suggestions.
I charge £120 as a Consultation fee within a 40 mile radius of Cambridge. This fee is deductible if you proceed with a design. I will quote you for a design after our initial meeting once I have had a chance to assess your garden and understand your requirements and aspirations. Book a Consultation visit HERE
Site Survey
Once the quotation for the design has been accepted, I return to survey the garden, taking measurements, levels and photographs and run through the brief with you.
Concept drawings
I will return with design proposals in sketch form for discussion and should the plan need altering or new ideas introduced, this is the time for the final 'tweak'.
Detailed Design
The final plan will be drawn up to scale by hand and presented to you showing all hard and soft landscaping detail together with a specification from which a landscaper may quote.
Project management
I enjoy being involved in the building of my projects and prefer to be involved with the setting out of the design and will make site visits to satisfy myself that you are happy with the way things are progressing. Also to reassure you that the piles of soil and trenches that resemble a battlefield will very shortly be the haven of tranquillity I have promised! A fee for this service can be discussed and arranged depending on my input required.
Planting Plans
Once the design has been approved I can move forward to draw up detailed planting plans. The price depends on the areas involved and this will be discussed with you and confirmed once the design is in place.
Planting
Once the site is finished and the beds are prepared I am happy to both supply and plant your garden.
Care Notes
Tailor made Care notes can be supplied for an additional fee, depending on the size and extent of the planting scheme. This will enable you to look after your plants giving you detailed advice on pruning and plant husbandry. ​

I charge £120 for this visit, which can last up to 2 hours. If you proceed with my design services for a full garden plan, this fee is deducted from your design total.
